The new form is now twice as long—18 pages—and is intentionally designed to reduce unclear or vague questions and responses. This change comes at a time when many immigration applications are being scrutinized more than usual. In the past month, there has been a concerning increase in requests for additional evidence for many temporary work statuses, particularly H-1Bs. It is not unlikely that the new green card application, which probes extensively into applicants’ previous personal and immigration history, might identify more grounds to deny green card applications.Because of this scrutiny, it is important that your immigration applications are analyzed and prepared thoroughly and your immigration history and documents remain consistent. If in doubt, consult with an immigration attorney to make sure that you are not violating the terms of your stay, even unintentionally. We will continue to monitor the effects of the new application and, as always, will thoroughly review our clients’ documents and forms to anticipate and prevent any unwelcome surprises.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
